My daily practice of focused presence (meditation) lays a rich foundation for my day and my sessions with clients. Yes it is sometimes difficult to get started. I find it works best first thing in the morning. Once I settle down and sit quietly for a few minutes I become calm, present and aware of subtle energies. When an anxious event arises during the day I can quickly see the resolution or at least bring myself to calmness and assess the situation.
I bring presence to my sessions as well. With people the feeling is contagious. Consciously or unconsciously clients take on peace and awareness during time with me. It works because I set a desirable example of tranquility and the client’s body moves toward the quiet direction. The biological intelligence of humans wants to be relaxed and healthy, it may just need a little nudge at times.
